A range of purpose-designed accessories to enhance the usability and flexibility of the T4 Diagnostic system are now available.
In response to concerns over the difficulty in removing the diagnostic port ('Docking Station') from the trolley for road test purposes, we are now able to offer a quick release bracket as an accessory item.
The bracket is fixed to the rear of the diagnostic port, and new fixings on the T4 trolley allow the bracket to be quickly fitted and removed.
The kit is supplied with all necessary fixings, a new 2m-network cable as well as full fitting instructions.
Please note that upgraded units and some early T4 trolleys will require 4 new holes to be drilled to fit the new fixings.
A power supply and adapter to allow the T4 laptop to run directly from the vehicle is now available to complement the Diagnostic Port Quick Release Bracket.
In order to protect the keyboard on the laptop form accidental spillages, a protective membrane has been designed. This fixes securely over the whole keyboard and Touch Pad of the laptop giving comprehensive protection whilst maintaining the ability to use both Touch Pad and TrackStick.
Freelander vehicles from 01MY on have required both the Blue and Grey J1962 cables (Part numbers DTC0061A and DTC0064A respectively) to be used during many diagnostic and configuration routines. This is due to the vehicle using two separate diagnostic busses that cannot share a common pin on the vehicle diagnostic connector.
Originally announced in December 2001, this cable greatly improves the usability of diagnostic for these vehicles. The cable consists of a housing containing the switching circuitry and the J1962 connector, and a remote rotary switch attached via sufficient cable length to be used at the T4 / TestBook unit. There is thus no requirement to change the cable actually connected to the vehicle, all switching between ‘blue’ and ‘grey’ cables being performed via the rotary switch.
The T4 Trolley is available for dealers who upgraded from a TestBook 1 to a T4 System. These dealers kept their TestBook 1 Trolley and received an upgrade kit to mount the T4 system onto their existing TestBook Trolley.
