Senior Hardware Design Engineer
Devizes. Wiltshire
38 hour flexible working week plus generous company pension, Life Assurance & 25 days holidays plus Bank Hols.
Responsibilities
- Working with project owners on system design from concept to completion
- Full hardware life cycle from requirements capture onwards
- Development of best practise hardware design procedures and tools
- Technical development of junior engineers
Experience required
- Highly experienced in some of the following:
- Detailed electronic design from concept to final product
- Electronic design specifically for the automotive Industry
- Circuit capture using CAD (Orcad or similar)
- Detailed analogue and digital circuit design
- Embedded processor hardware/firmware circuit integration
- EMC design & validation experience (including 2004/104EC e-marking)
- Good understanding of PCB design and layout – in particular SMT
- Knowledge of electronics simulation packages such as SPICE
- Some experience of higher speed embedded designs (ie. > 50MHz)
- ISO 9000 Quality procedures within a design/manufacturing company
- Essential Skills
- Proven ability in successful complex embedded electronic product design
- A knowledge of automotive coms technologies including CAN, LIN & K-line
- Some experience in software development for embedded microcontroller-based systems
- Awareness of FPGA/CPLD technologies
- Ability to work both alone and in small teams
- Desirable Skills
- Experience in developing products using ARM, XC16X or HCS12 preferable
- Knowledge of using embedded C
- Knowledge of embedded LINUX and the use of RTOS
- Automotive ECU design experience
Ability to use AutoCAD & SolidWorks
