UK After Market Warranty

Limited Warranty for Omitec Products and Accessories Purchased in the United Kingdom or Ireland

  1. Warranty Cover

    Defects in materials and workmanship in the following ‘Products’ manufactured, sold or certified by Omitec, with which this limited warranty is included in/on the package:

    1. Electrical/Electronic Diagnostic Equipment or
    2. Emission test equipment such as Smoke Meters and Exhaust Gas Analysers
    3. Both (a) and (b) are subject to the following exceptions:

      • Consumables, Hoses and Probe Tips. This warranty does not extend to the product consumables, such as filters, printer paper, printer cartridges as well as external hoses, pipes or probe tips*
      • Batteries. This warranty does not extend to batteries except rechargeable batteries which are ONLY covered during the initial 30 day ‘start up period’
      • Software Exceptions. This warranty extends only to physical defects in the media (such as CD-ROM) that tangibly embodies each copy of any software sold and/or certified by Omitec for use with its products.
      • Maintenance. This warranty does not extend to any product that has failed to be maintained in accordance with Omitec maintenance guide as described in the user manual.
  2. Period of Cover

    Subject to the following exceptions the cover is three (3) years from the date the products are purchased by the end user:

    • 90-Day Warranty Exception. The warranty is for 90 days for:
      • all external cables or connectors* not physically mounted to the product or
      • any external sensors* (such as current clamps or RPM pick ups)
    • One (1) Year Warranty Exception. The warranty is for one (1) year for all printers.
    • Repair/Replacement Exception. The warranty is for the balance of the original warranty or for 90 days from the date returned and delivered to the first end user, whichever is longer.
  3. Coverage

    This warranty only extends to you only if you are the first end user purchaser.

  4. Correction of Warranty Problems

    At no charge to you (except initial return postage cost), we have the option to repair or replace the products that do not conform to the warranty. We may use functionally equivalent reconditioned/refurbished/pre-owned or new Products or parts. No software updates are provided.

  5. This Warranty Does Not Cover

    • Products that are operated in combination with ancillary or peripheral equipment or software not furnished with the products. This includes batteries, chargers, adaptors, power supplies or third party software loaded to the system.
      Any of these voids the warranty.
    • Someone other than Omitec (or authorised service personnel) tests, adjusts, installs, maintains, alters, modifies or services the Products in any way.
      Any of these voids the warranty.
    • Products that have:
      • serial or date tags that have been removed, altered or obliterated;
      • board serial numbers that do not match the housing; or
      • nonconforming housing or parts.

      Any of these voids the warranty.
    • Defects or damage resulting from:
      • use of the Products in a manner that is not normal;
      • improper operation or misuse;
      • accident or neglect such as dropping the unit onto hard surface;
      • contact with water, rain, or extreme humidity;
      • contact with extreme heat.

      Any of these voids the warranty.
    • Physical damage to the surface of the Products, including scratches, cracks or other damage to the display screen or other externally exposed parts.
    • Cables that have broken, bent pins or subject to excessive stress or wear.
