OmiScan Gas is modular, you have a docking station and then the hand set. You set the docking station near the tailpipe of the vehicle, on a cart, on the floor or in the trunk then simply “undock” the hand set and you are now fully portable. Many portable gas analyzers are tethered to the tail pipe as the sample probe plugs directly into the device. Our gas analyzer uses Bluetooth technology to enable complete portability for the technician and much faster results!
The unit uses a short six foot sample probe, this greatly reduces the latency time that it takes for the gases to reach the gas bench as they only have to travel a fraction of the distance they would normally do compared to a regular analyzer. Therefore the technician gets faster results when he applies a snap test of the accelerator for instance.
OmiScan Gas is great for road tests when looking for difficult to diagnose problems. Simply place the docking station in the trunk and bring the hand set into the cabin, as it is wireless you do not have to trail the sample probe into the cabin of the vehicle. You can record for up to one hour, when you experience the problem simply hit the snap shot button and the trigger point will be marked in the recording so you can clearly see where it took place. When you return to the shop, connect to a PC and use the included gas analysis software to replay the road test.
The software includes a guided diagnostics function that can help identify typical faults such as; ignition problems, air leaks, oxygen sensor faults, faulty catalysts and more. This feature can help the technician find the fault very quickly.
Graphing function, either as a live plot or as a bar graph for individual gases. USB connection on handset for interface with PC utility software for data printout and comprehensive graphing functions; plot one gas or 5 gasses and add AFR, Lambda, RPM on the screen at once. Simply check or uncheck the value you want to see. Hover over any point in the graph and more information will pop up, want diagnostic help? Simply click on the “information” icon and diagnostic help specific to the value on the graph is displayed. If any of the values are out of spec they will be shown in red so you have a visual flag as to potential problems right away. Want to see relational data? Simply change the view to the bar graph now you can see exactly how the gases relate to one another at any point in the recording. Users can define their own test parameters and customized tests very easily.
Predefined Tests are included as follows; this allows the technician to pre –test a vehicle prior to a state inspection.
• TSI (Two Speed Idle) Test simulation function
• ASM (Acceleration Simulation Test) Test simulation Function
• Catalyst Test
Catalyst test, this test is to help the technician decide if the cat is faulty or not. Simply follow the on-screen prompts, OmiScan Gas will test the emissions at different speeds. If the gases are within limits, the Cat is in good working condition if however the gasses are not within limits then the analyzer will go into an extended test cycle. If at the end of the extended test the emissions are not within limits the results are displayed on screen, OmiScan Gas will give a catalyst fault message to the user.
Comes in four and five gas options; measure’s HCs, CO, CO2, NOx and O2 with certified OIML Class 0 and BAR-97 accuracy. Optional wireless OBD II interface available for measuring tach and temp. Light weight rugged, compact construction with integral carry handle and charging dock for handset.
