Using our experience of producing the OmiScan classic, which has been available for 6 years, Omitec have taken all the best features and have enhanced these with a brand new machine.
Having listened to customer comments, ease of use, easy updates, never switching off (if not updated) and of course coverage, were found to be the most important features. All of which are now incorporated in the NEW OmiScan as well as the ‘new look’ handset with its ergonomic shape and tactile cover.
To this end all hardware is built into the handset, this enables 1 cable to connect to all post 1996 vehicles fitted with a 16-pin connector. All CAN communications and multiplexing are now dealt with internally, alleviating the need for extra harnesses. (Legacy harnesses are available for pre 1996 vehicles). Updates are 3 times a year by CD, or constantly available to download from the Omitec website. New OmiScan, like it’s predecessor will not switch off it not updated.
In addition the new OmiScan covers 31 vehicle manufacturers in depth, including the following systems:- EMS, TPMS, ABS, SRS, DSC, ESP, electronic parking brakes, service light reset, immobiliser, body control, transmission, security, door management, climate control, light control modules, electronic suspension, cruise control, park distance control, electro–hydraulic power steering, particulate filter and steering angle sensor - with more applications coming shortly.
