Technical Support Engineer
Devizes, Wiltshire
Salary:
Circa £24k plus generous company pension, Life Assurance, 25 days holiday plus Bank Hols. 38 hour flexible working week.
Main Accountabilities
- As part of our customer support team, you will provide support to users of high-tech automotive diagnostic and emission test equipment and record all related information in the knowledge database
- Proactively contact customers to promote the sale of Omitec products
- Provide engineering support for the validation of new products and software
- Visit customer sites to assess product and customer issues
- Feed back observations and customer comments to engineering for product development and/or improvements
- Keep up to date with new technology as well as systems and applications required to communicate information
- Communicate information clearly in the format most appropriate to the end user.
- Assist in the development and motivation of other staff, identifying training needs and when required provide training in order to ensure high levels of job efficiency
- Undertake other projects on topics relevant to the business needs
Employee Specification
- A technical or engineering qualification or equivalent experience.
- Proven fault finding diagnostic skills
- Good communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to deal with personnel at all levels
- Ability to set priorities and organise personal workloads often under pressure and to tight timescales
- Good administration and customer care skills
- Keen to work as an integral part of a team but able to take the lead when necessary
- A clean driving licence and prepared to visit different customer locations on occasions
- Self-motivated and disciplined
- Proactive and capable of meeting targets and deadlines
